Stay tuned here for the latest information regarding the tentative August 24th race.
The race is scheduled for the NE lot of Qualcomm stadium. This will be a new track for SDKA. For now the race is still listed as tentative pending insurance approval of the track.
We did the necessary test of the layout last Sunday July 27th and all the insurance forms have been submitted. We are hopeful to receive word from the insurance company very soon.
Ideally we would like to be able to make an announcement at the next race on August 10th. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
Jeff

Jeff, Can you post the track lay out?

Not until NKA approves the track layout. They may require changes that will confuse everyone if we post a layout that has not been approved. This isn't a slam-dunk. NKA has very definite requirements that aren't always easily met for temporary track setups.

The northeast track layout has been approved by NKA. We are good to go for the August 24th race. Track is clockwise; 0.55 mile length. Gearing? Start with what you used at Apex; adjust from there. We will run three (3) practice sessions so that everyone has opportunities to make changes. Don't get too settled into a pit space Sunday morning until we get the safety fence in place to separate the pits from the racing area. This is an insurance requirement for us to use the NE section and pit where the track map shows. We'll get the fence set as early as possible. Our webmaster, Jeff Shadoan, is in Alaska on vacation. So our ability to update the Home Page with the Schedule and Track Layout is hampered. I was not successful attaching the track layout and schedule. So, send me a private message to www.billc@dprinc.com. Make certain to put SDKA in the subject; or your message may be diverted by our spam firewall. I'll reply with the attachments.

Some of you may be experiencing technical difficulties sending me an email.
If I have not responded to your message requesting the track layout and schedule, try omitting "www." before my email address. Some carriers get hung up when that is added to the email address.
