Due to circumstances beyond our control the race this Sunday (June 1st) at Qualcomm has been cancelled. We were just notified this afternoon that there was a scheduling conflict (previously missed) and the parking lot is not open for SDKA to race.
We appologize for the disappointment and the short notice we received. As much as anybody else we were looking forward to racing this weekend.
Please help spread the word to anybody you know so they don't show up on Sunday.
When we have the scheduling meeting at Qualcomm for the second half of the season we will do our best to include a make-up date.

The next race is at Apex on June 21st. Twice a year meetings are held at Qualcomm with all the car clubs (SCCA, BMW Club, etc.) to schedule our seasons around open dates on the calendar. We get as many dates as possible at Qualcomm. Any gaps in the schedule are filled with Apex (used to be a combination of Moran and Apex). When SDKA travels (Apex, Moran, etc.) the number of entries always drop vs. Qualcomm. Most SDKA members prefer to race locally and keep the travel dates to a minimum. why no Perris Apex races???

I was notified by the stadium this afternoon at about 2:30 PM that we had been "bumped" because of a scheduling conflict. This also happened to SCCA a couple of months ago. The high dollar renters get priority. Because of the late notice it was not feasible to contact Apex to check on their availability and notify everyone of a change of venue. If we had received more notice an attempt to change race locations would have been made. We do have a night race at Apex on Saturday, June 21st.
If you are aware of someone who had planned on racing Sunday at the stadium, please let them know the race has been canceled. I would rather get several phone calls about the cancellation than not get any and show up Sunday morning wondering where everyone was!
Everyone is disappointed with this late turn of events. The meeting at the stadium to determine the second half is in a couple of weeks and and every effort will be made to get our full compliment of races for the season. Thank you for your patience!
