Hey for the used tire race what are the rules. Do the tires only have to be scrubbed in?

Kellen, > Hey for the used tire race what are the rules. Do the tires only > have to be scrubbed in? You wish! Here is the link to the message board explanation: thedigdug.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=news&action=display&thread=1268Hey, did you run the Tuscon SKUSA race? The Tag Senior race was awesome - the top five drivers in the main had fast laps within .03 seconds of each other - yes, three-hundredths of a second apart. The top 22 had fast laps within less than a second. Hal

Alright well I guess I'll just use the ones from this weekends race at Streets of Willow i'm excited first time on a road course in a kart. I went to Tuscon and watched the TaG race it was really good so was S1 when Bray broke and then they were 4 wide coming to the finish line. Thanks for the info Hal

Kellen,
> i'm excited first time on a road course in a kart.
To quote Conor, after his first session at Streets of Willow: "Dad, that's the most fun I've ever had in my life."
It should be pretty cool in a shifter. Be prepared to experience an actual draft, where you can slingshot by several karts at the end of the straight. And make sure your brakes are 100% - maybe rebuild the master cylinder and calipers.
Will they be running clockwise or counter-clockwise?
Have a great race, and we'll see you in San Diego on the 22nd.

Yeah we just rebuilt everything we got a new air filter, pipe, silencer, new brake pads, new top end, and then we have 2 sets of tires to practice on so i'll be out there all day we're getting there as soon as it opens tomorrow i'm so stoked. And i think we're running counter-clockwise but i'm not positive.

Kellen,
> And i think we're running counter-clockwise but i'm not positive.
The "Bowl" turn is decreasing radius at exit, when running counter-clockwise, and if you have an off, it can be sketchy. Make sure you have it down before going ten-tenths.
Gearing will be critical, and will change depending on whether you're running with a group in a draft. There were six and seven kart trains on the downhill straight, and they were pulling away from anyone not running with them. So get someone right away that you can hook up with, so that you can have an idea on gearing.
Tell your Dad to bring good binoculars, as it's hard to see much of the back side of the track without them.

Kellen,
Pulled this from the EKN article about PKC Streets of Willow:
"while Kellen Guthrie was nearly untouchable in the Select Shifter/DR Kart-sponsored S3 Novice Stock Moto class, outrunning point leader Jessica Sollberger and Vatche Tatikian."
What the ... You racing Sunday down at the Q? Like to hear the blow by blow in person if so.
