Need help i just got a rotax max tag kart it has been ran at sdka before the previous driver was 230# im 185# ? also what tires are required for that class i got some tires back yhc and yhk on front? help please

Also if any body has an old karting suit they want to sell or let me borrow that would be cool , for those of you i havent talked to im in the navy and will only get one shot at racing before i leave for 6 mo so i am scrambling to get every thing ready

Hi Billy!
Glad you want to race with us! Do you have any kart racing experience?
Rotax's are now run in the mix of engines called TAG karts
The Club runs 2 classes in TAG. Senior and Masters.
Seniors run at 370# minimum
Masters runs at 400# Masters – 35 and up or Driver weight of 200+ lbs. (with all driving Gear).
Most karts weigh ~200#.
Club TAG Tires are: Maxxis HG3 or MH, Bridgestone YHC, Burris B55A or B44A, or MoJo (per RMC)
As for the suit I have old suits. How tall are you?

Thank you for the info i think i have the weight problem down but still need suit i am 5 ft 8 in and weigh about 190

Hi Billy,
I have a spare suit that may fit you. I'm taller but lighter than you ... 5'-11" and 175 lbs. It could be a little snugger than ideal (maybe not). Its always in my trailer as a spare so I'll have it with me if you need it.

Thank you all very much I think it will be a lot of fun, as far as my expirience i raced late modle dirt track and some motocross as a youngster latley just some off road and a couple of races in a tag in the UAE. When i get back i want to get my two sons into karting 1 is 6 the other is11 i hope they will like it as much as going to the dessert. We will see

The race is Saturday ... don't want you to show up on Sunday with nobody there  I'm assuming you'll be running in TaG Masters at the 400# min weight. Since you haven't raced the Rotax before I'd recommend starting with a 12 (front) and 81-82 (rear) gear for a ballpark. If you'll be running TaG Senior at the 370# min weight then try a 12 (front) and 79-80 (rear) ballpark. See you there. |

Figured it out i bought 4 bathroom scales and put under each tire 200# on the money
