I'm new to Karting and just bought my first Kart. The Kart I bought needs new sprockets and chain. Can anyone recommend how many teeth I should start with on the front and rear sprockets to run the local San Diego events. I just need something to get me started and then I can buy more once I've run the Kart once or twice.
Thanks,
Chris

I will be running in the Formula Y/C Heavy class and I have a KT100. I probably should have mentioned that in the first post.

honestly that's a tough question to get an honest answer to. or even the correct answer to. gearing is the racers ace in the hole, but you never know what the other guy's had changed to either. the next scheduled race is on the west course so i would recommend an 11 tooth driver and between a 78 and 83 sprocket. it depends on your clutch setting too.

I would reccomend buying 82-85 rear sprocket if your running a 11 tooth driver.
