Welcome to the world of karting. We are still planning on running a club next year, hopefully at Qualcom stadium or another local spot. Regardless we will most likely run at Perris and Moran at least 4 or 5 races next year. Yes they are not local but Moran is the most distant and is less than 2 hours from El Cajon(dont know what part of the county you live in). Shifter kart is a big step both speed and working parts. I started last year at 57 years old but went with Rotax as it is a controlled/spec class(engines are sealed, so equal) and I had less to think about. You can run in Rotax or TAG classes so you have other options if you run in Southern Calif. Both are self starting with on board battery. Suggest you look up go-karting.com and go to Peters store in Vista to look at karts and get a Go Racing kart magazine(its free) as it has lots of good local So Cal info. Come see us in September at Perris(09/24/05) night race or Moran in October(its the best track in So Cal. Good Luck Well try and help if possible. ED

One of the guys in the club is thinking about buying one of those. Under contact us you will see Greg Marcums name and phone. He races Rotax with us now and is thinking about buying it. They just used them once or twice for Red Bull and sell them after useing them. I dont think Greg would mind you calling him. He may have more info on them. Most new Rotax Karts are going to cost between $5500 and $6500 depending on extras. Age has nothing to do with it, its just nice to be able to race 2 classes and since the motors are sealed its a driver and setup deal. Also, a new Rotax has a 6 months warranty(I believe Red Bulls do also) and its our biggest class. Several local Rotax drivers are selling theres at the end of October. We can give you names if you want to talk with them. ED

Charlie, Here is my email if you are really interested. fbf2@cox.net I will be racing this kart in the last two club races, but you could come out to Perris next month and watch it perform. It is a CRG Blue Demon. Hope to hear from you.

Unfortunately, I can vouch that Brian's kart never breaks down like some of the other's. I'm willing to put in $500 toward the kart if Charlie wants to buy it now rather than later. Peter B
