(New To Karting)
I am currently looking at the forums to see what it takes to get into karting so bare with me please.
I have done some indoor stuff (MiraMar and D1) and would to actually like to get my own kart. Problem is that there are 10000 different kinds of karts, and of course the investment that goes along with the whole sport. I plan to attend some events, talk with people, etc. My questions basically deal with BRANDS, CLASS, and investment costs. Of course you make the sport cost as much as you are willing to make it cost but start up cost is a good lead for eventual costs.
Any suggestions beyond whats posted would be very helpful because I am passing this info on to others who want to join as well as for myself.
BTW, I am 5'11" and 145 lbs. 29 yrs old (even though I don"t see an age classification that would ban me from certain classes). Anyone local (San Diego) willing to discuss this with me in person or over the phone would be helpful. thanks again.

I'm new in this also and Peter at Go-Karting.com in San Marcos was a great help. Give him a call or go to his shop. After talking to him, I went with the TAG class, perfect class for someone just getting in to Karting.

You can't go wrong if you contact Peter at Go-Karting (Vista) or Frank Bain at FX Racing (Miramar). They are both strong supporters of SDKA races, and will be able to help with class selection.
