I just returned from Moran, where my son did their intro to karting class. I was very impressed with them up there, especially since my son was the only entrant so they did a one-on-one with him for the group price. We also stayed and he did a two hour rental the next day.
I've also done Jim Hall, a few years back, with positive results there as well.
Any other thoughts on karting schools, instructors, coaches, or programs? My son now seems pretty serious about this stuff!

Moran is probably your best bet locally. Adams in Riverside does classes I believe. You could check with them. Our last local race this year is at Cajon Speedway in El Cajon on 08/14/05, stop by see us race and say goodbye to Cajon.
