Track set-up and "Front of Line" privileges at Registration and Tech.
We need your help. Before a race day can begin the track must be set-up. For helping with track set-up you may go to the front of the line at Registration and Tech after track set-up is done. Track set-up begins 7:15 - 7:30. Please see Carlos Dorantes to check-in and get signed off when done. Remember, every Member must complete two track set-ups & tear-downs to qualify for year-end Member benefits (trophies, prizes, etc.)
If you would like to sign up in advance of race day you can email Carlos at gokartsracing@gmail.com.

I'm not sure if the requirement is 2 setups and 2 teardowns. Is one setup and one teardown good, or do you need two of each?

If you are a member of SDKA, yes; two set-ups and tear-downs are required of each member, if you want your points to count for the Championship Awards.
It's how a volunteer organization works; with everyone doing a small part to make the race day happen for SDKA.
We could pay workers to do it for us, but no one would come to race; the fee to enter would be shocking.

Just a note that the requirement has not changed for 2010 and only applies to Qualcomm events.

Will track set-up for the 3/25 race be on Saturday evening or Sunday morning? With the shortened race schedule, it would be nice to get in those set-ups and teardowns early. I'd hate to miss an opprotunity.

Since the Junior Seau memorial is on Friday @ 6:30 at the Q, I am presuming set-up will be done Saturday morning?
Going on that presumption, will set-up begin earlier than 7? Even though the SE course is a bit shorter and more compact than the west side, it has always seem to take twice as long to set-up.

Kurt should have the trailer to the stadium by 7:00. I'll be there by 6:30 to set up my pit and pick up the bike rack.

Track setup will be Saturday morning at 7am. This is the third race of the season, and only 8 races are planned this year. So if you want to compete for club championship points and awards, you need to do your 4 required set-ups or tear downs. All help is appreciated.
You also must be a club member to compete for a championship. So if you have not done so, please renew you SDKA membership.
MS 98 racing fuel will be sold at the track Saturday by Scrib's Performance. Phone #619-444-1553. 2 gal. minimum purchase.
Promotion and raffle this race, will be a free future race entry. Each driver will get one raffle ticket. Additional tickets can be bought at the gate for $5. Help support the club.
