Hey Alex, The forum is a little quiet right now since were in the middle of the off season. For your size and age the 125 TAG class would be a good place to start. There is an FA Kart package in the classified section that will give you an idea of a TAG Kart. The Rotax engines are popular and easy to get support with. SDKA meets once a month at Qualcomm stadiam. Look for the 2014 Schedule to be posted and for sure come out and check out the racing. Everyone is very helpful and would be happy to answer any questions and or help you get started. Picking up a used Kart from someone in the SDKA club is not a bad idea, you can save a lot of time and money setting up the Kart with someone there is that already familiar with it. . There are rumors of a championship winning (#4 ) yellow Kart (TAG) that might be available before the next season starts that would be worth checking out. I bet it would with some invaluable coaching. Hope you get involved. Its awesome! Thx, Phil
