Hello I'm new to kart racing and really want to get started in racing shifter to get started in car racing to the eventually one day race in the Nascar Sprint Series (Ive wanted to race nascar since I was a kid but never got the opportunity until recently to try car racing). Ive raced motorcycles since I was 9 and quit riding at age 15 and race at least twice a month at miramar speed circuit and k1 speed. I basically want to know where to get started and how? can i join a team or or club? I'm 18 years old weigh about 145 and am 5'10. I learned that kart racing is a huge step into a stock car racing career. hope you can all help me thanks!

You don't want to jump into a shifter kart. You should start in a 100cc or a tag kart. Just like you would start in the trucks, or Nationwide series in Nascar. Come out to a race, ask questions. There is a lot of used equipment out there, which is a good place to start. You will be surprised how much faster sprint karts are compared to Miramar Speed Circuit karts.

I have a kart for you. $750 takes it. It's a nice Trackmagic Dragon TAG kart. All you need is an engine. There are engines laying around all over the pits. All you need is money to get it. Buy a Rotax 125max. This is where it all begins. On April 22nd, be at Apex in Perris CA. Be there or be square.

Welcome to the club, I may have a kart for you to rent. It is a rotax 125 on a CRG chassis that I am selling. Let me know if your interested. It would be a good way to see what your getting into and what is out there. Either way best of luck.
